76 LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIALS ENDORSE HANSEN IN HIS BID FOR THE STATE SENATE

(HART, MI) – State Senate candidate Goeff Hansen (R-Hart) today announced that he has received the endorsement of seventy-six current and retired local elected officials from the 34rd District in his bid to represent the area in the state Senate.

The list of those endorsing Hansen includes mayors in all four counties represented by the 34th District: Montague Mayor Henry Roesler, Jr. (Muskegon County), Scottville Mayor Leon Begue (Mason County), and Hart Mayor Clancy Aerts (Oceana County), and former Newaygo Mayor Ron Armstrong (Newaygo County). In addition, Hansen has also received the support of four city police chiefs, ten county commissioners and elected officials from all levels of government from across the 34th District including former state representative Don Van Singel and Ivan Anthony, retired Mason County Clerk.

“As a law enforcement official, I have had the opportunity to work with Goeff Hansen on issues affecting our community, and I believe we can have no stronger voice for us in the state Senate,” said Pat Hedlund, Newaygo City Police Chief.

“Goeff is principled and hard-working. He is dedicated to West Michigan and to preserving our values and works hard for everyone in our area – from our families and farms to our schools and small businesses,” said Lew Squires, Mason County Commissioner.

“Goeff Hansen has been an effective state representative and will serve our area well as our next state senator,” said Jay Goodrich, Montague Township Trustee. “Goeff understands the issues and concerns we have and works hard to be responsive and get things done.”

These endorsements come on the heels of an endorsement by former state Senator Leon Stille, who represented the 34rd District in the state Senate.

“I am grateful for the support and trust our area’s local elected officials have placed in me,” said Rep. Hansen. “I believe we serve our area best if we have communication and cooperation between all levels of government and have worked hard to forge both good working relationships and friendships with our local elected officials. They are a dedicated, hard-working group of people and I am honored to have earned their endorsements.”

Goeff Hansen is the owner of a local family business and is currently serving his third term as a state representative. He lives in Hart with his wife Tami. Together they have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. To learn more about Goeff Hansen, visit his website at: www.hansen4senate.com.
